RFM Group were recently awarded the contract to carry out full refurbishment works to a listed building owned by WYG in Cardiff City Centre. The project value was in the region of £100,000 with a duration of 6 weeks refurbishing 5,000 sq ft of office space. For the duration of the project, RFM Group acted as principle contractor to manage the structural and interior works.

Across all three floors of the building RFM Group were required to hack off all plaster to exposed brickwork. The building was suffering a serious damp rot issue which required treatment. Major repairs to the roof and the external render of the building were also carried out. Flooring was removed to all of the ground floor and part first floor, along with the ceilings on all levels. The walls were re-plastered, new stud partitioning was installed with suspended ceilings, new carpet laid throughout the building and a new kitchen also supplied and installed. The whole building underwent a full re-decoration programme.

Cardiff City Council signed the building works off as complete and safe. The project was successfully completed on time and in budget and the client was presented with an impressive, fully refurbished building.
